Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's initial title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on court had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden tour title, took control to force a final set.
He rescued four initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
